Another free concert at Gallivan Center with the annual KUTV Days of ‘47 Pops Concert. The full Salt Lake Symphony performs music of the old west and patriotic favorites on Friday and Saturday starting at 7:30.

The Salt Lake Buddhist Temple celebrates Obon on Saturday starting at 3pm with food, dancing, and Taiko drumming! AND: if you’ve never seen the altar inside the Temple–you should go just to see it!
EarthGang opens the 2025 Twilight Concert Series this Saturday at Gallivan Center! A mixture of hip hop, soul, and funk create the group’s signature biting lyrics and playful deliveries, plus, somehow, tickets are still available!
Mr. Michael Sanders stages his Urban Flea Market at The Gateway Sunday 10-4pm, $3. Speaking from experience, there will be a lot of knick knacks, vintage treasures, a bit of junk, and maybe some priceless antiques. You’ll never know, unless you go!
Listen, a Cubano is a grilled sandwich made with roast pork, ham, swiss cheese, pickles, and mustard on Cuban bread. Why is that so hard?
Finally, a Utah restaurateur has staked a valid claim as the best Cubano in Utah. Christina Rojas and her family have opened La Cubana, a family-run food truck that will be at the Downtown Farmers Market every Saturday, 8-2pm. Their bright digs, gracious smiles, and bold flavors bring a little Miami to SLC. You should also try the Cafe Cubano, tostones, and maduros!
The secret to excellent Cubanos? It’s the pickles, silly!
