A CURATED CALENDAR FOR THE CURIOUS SLC EXPLORER
See full event listings at The Blocks Arts District

A tale as old as time: two musicians who witness a mob hit disguise themselves as women in an all-female jazz band. That’s the premise of Some Like It Hot, the super-sized song and dance spectacular at the Eccles through Sunday.

Repertory Dance Theatre celebrates 60 years with celebrated choreographer Zvi Gotheiner and composer Scott Killian presenting a poetic work on the Company in MIGRATIONS. Just three shows at Rose Wagner, tickets start at just $15.

Jerry Rapier’s Plan-B Theatre presents a world premiere play by Matthew Ivan Bennett and Elaine Jarvik called Just Add Water. The premise sounds hilarious with the Great Salt Lake taking human form to head into the city on a quest to understand what is happening to her and what she can do about it.  Performances through October 19.

Audiophiles listen up! Looking for the deepest of deep cuts? KRCL has a massive three-day-sale at The Gateway of their collection of highly eclectic vinyl records, cassettes, and CDs. Fri, Sat, and Monday.

Throw on a sweater and enjoy the feel of fall at the Downtown Farmers Market. The Level Crossing Beer Garden returns and The Blocks Arts District and Mexican Consulate of Salt Lake present Angie Garrido on the Main Stage (our blue Market truck!). Angie shares passion and joy through Mexican folklore music and romantic classics.

As newish neighbors to Japantown, we’ve become more aware of festivals like Oban, Nihon Matsuri, and Fall Ohigan. They're small immersions into a wonderful world of food, sounds, and culture. This Saturday check out the Japanese Food Festival 1-8pm. Admission is free, dishes are between $5-$7. Try the Japanese savory pancake Okonomiyaki or a fresh-from-the-steamer cabbage and pork gyoza. Our mouth is watering!

Melt into old school funk and soul as KRCL presents Durand Jones & The Indications at The Depot. We just listened to Really Wanna Be With You and are ready to boogie all night with Laura Jones. See you there. (7pm, $36)

We want to feature your fun!
