A major new exhibit opened Friday at UMOCA: Altered States in the Acid West. TWENTY-THREE contemporary artists reconsidered the stories and symbols of the American West. You don’t want to miss this monumental exhibition.

Utah bid’s adieu to Robert Redford’s indie film festival that inspired so many imitators, Sundance. But before it leaves, enjoy screenings at Broadway Center Cinema and Rose Wagner. There are dozens of screenings! (Closes Feb 1) (Also, see Friday)

The Blocks and FICE Gallery team up to celebrate Sundance with SIGNS, an outdoor art exhibit and dance party. Together, this team closes down Broadway in between Squatters and Rose Wagner for a one-night revelry of dance and art. The event will feature work curated by SISTER Art Collective and music from local DJs. The event will run from 5:00pm to 10:00pm and is free and open to the public.


We hear a voice soaked in whiskey and nostalgia in Ernest’s music. This Nashville-based musician mixes modern country with southern storytelling, which he’ll do at The Complex Friday, 7pm. $46.

With charismatic smiles and Colorado charm, Grammy-nominated Yonder Mountain String Band fiddles into The Complex Saturday 6pm, $44.
