You know that moment you leave the office on Friday? The fluorescent buzz fades behind you, stress melts as you exit, the world feels lighter, possibilities endless, and Monday is a myth, a problem for the future you.
It was one of those Fridays recently. Flushed with freedom, full of expectation, excitement, hope.
We wandered into Copper Common at 5pm with beloved co-workers. Cocktails arrived and we sat back into the chair enjoying The Ladyhawke, one of the most sophisticated, complex, yet balanced cocktails we’ve ever had–anywhere–with mezcal, amaro, and grapefruit liqueur. A few sips and…poof: joy and relaxation conquered anxiety and angst.
Oysters arrive, tasting like they were plucked from the ocean this morning, swimming in brine. And then, a real discovery–smoked trout in curry spices framed by pickles and toast–a humble dish turned into a hymn.
The cocktail hour wasn’t planned, it wasn’t a party, just a pause between chapters. The conversation was easy. Laughter curled between the clink of glasses, and the golden glow of the hour stretched out around us.
It was a reminder that pleasure doesn’t need permission, that time can stretch when you’re not watching the clock, and that good friendship–well-fed and slightly buzzed–might be the most underrated miracle.
We want to feature your fun!
