A CURATED CALENDAR FOR THE CURIOUS SLC EXPLORER
See full event listings at The Blocks Arts District
One of our favorite programs of the Ballet West season is their Choreographic Festival, where new works are premiered. Sometimes funny, perhaps quirky, and maybe genius, this program is one you don’t want to miss at Rose Wagner through Saturday.
Love, scandal, and a soprano who will stop your heart. Utah Opera's La Traviata is Verdi at his most devastating — glamorous, passionate, and over 170 years old without a single wrinkle. Capitol Theatre, multiple shows.
ALSO WEDNESDAY:
Utah’s resident Neil deGrasse Tyson, Professor of Physics and Astronomy, Dr. Rachel McClure gives a free, one-hour lecture at Clark Planetarium on the most cutting edge findings of our home, the Milky Way Galaxy. 7pm. Limited seating, you must RSVP.
ALSO THURSDAY
One of our favorite festivals, Living Traditions returns! This year is an incredible line-up of dance from Mexico to Greece, and Switzerland to Nepal. And the food line-up is just as diverse. PLUS: Saturday night’s headliner is Preservation Hall Jazz Band, the 65 year institution from New Orleans, takes the north stage at 8:30pm!
Sterling Poulson and the Choral Arts Society of Utah perform their annual free concert honoring those in the Armed Forces. Entertainment begins at 4:00pm at Gallivan Center and crescendos to John Philip Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever.
Different vibes, but just as welcoming as Sterling Poulson, local drag rock star, Pattie Gonia throws a Kilby Block Afterparty at The Complex with 22 performers! 9:30
We want to feature your fun!
