There is a lot to unpack there… or is there? Maybe tonight we leave geopolitics at the coat check and just dance together to the greatest classic rock of all times. 7PM
Just a few shows left for Ballet West’s Dracula. Patrons are loving the sexy ballet version that is huge with a giant cast of dancers, flying witches, pyrotechnics, a full orchestra, and a heavy dose of gothic horror.
ALSO WEDNESDAY
“The killer in me is the killer in you,” with those words every Gen X’er connected their childhood trauma and emotional rage to Billy Corgan and fell in love with The Smashing Pumpkins. Feel those emotions again, 32 years later at the Delta Center. 8pm, $55+
Step into The Vault at Monaco for A Murderous Cocktail Affair, a night of glamour, music, and mystery. Passed champagne and appetizers plus live entertainment. 7PM $55
Let’s do the time warp again! Though we sadly lost Tim Curry recently, Rocky will continue forever at Broadway Cinema. See the show with emcee or without, just note the live shows come with a warning for mature audiences only! Rocky Horror Picture Show plays through Saturday.
One of the greatest halloween films combined with one of the greatest orchestras!? Watch Hocus Pocus while the Utah Symphony plays the score. Two cult favorites, two shows.
Kick off your Halloween weekend with Salt Lake Spooky Speaks, an evening of multilingual storytelling and poetry dedicated to magic and mystery. Free-to-attend, all-ages event featuring local spoken-word artists sharing folklore, fables, and spooky tales. 7:00 – 9:30PM in the Eccles lobby.
The Delta Center welcomes country pop duo Dan + Shay and tickets are very reasonable, starting at just $41.
Early season injuries on our forwards Lauri Markkanen and Jaren Jackson Jr have cast an evil spell over the Utah Jazz this weekend. However we’ll trust Keyonte George, Darryn Peterson, and Ace Bailey anchoring the backcourt as they take on the Portland Trail Blazers. Tickets just $22, 1PM.
Sienna Spiro's voice is husky, deeply emotive and draws immediate comparisons to Amy Winehouse's signature jazz and R&B inflection. At last month’s MTV Video Music Awards, she won Best New Artist. So check her out at The Complex tonight, she will certainly be in a larger venue next time she tours through SLC. 7PM
