Feel the beat at Bomba Marilé’s free concert on the steps of Eccles Theater Friday, 8-10pm. This Afro-Puerto Rican band brings high-energy, dance, and percussion to every performance– you’ll be swaying along with them before you know it. (FREE)
Utah Arts Alliance’s Urban Arts Festival returns for one day only to The Gateway! The lowriders and custom car exhibit is always a crowd favorite, but there will also be an artist’s marketplace, live mural paintings, and 21 live musical acts! (Noon-10pm).

Be brave: Scales and Tales returns at Discovery Gateway Children’s Museum! Get up close and personal with snakes, lizards, turtles, spiders, scorpions, all included in the price of a general admission ticket!
Aww, The Rose Establishment. What a gem. We are always taking visitors there because it is so much more than a coffee shop, it is a vibrant hub for the neighborhood and you get a very strong sense of community.
And the food is just as notable. They proudly source from local farms and ranchers– and you can taste the love in the food. The 9 to 5 Breakfast Sandwich with eggs, cheddar cheese, bacon on an English muffin was scrumptious and the lighter brunch bowl was bright with flavors and left us happy. This Saturday, head to the Farmers Market in the morning, stop into The Rose to freshen up, and then hit Urban Arts Festival, all within one block of each other. Weekend planned!
