Sundance in Salt Lake City
Starting Thursday, the stars will be coming out in Utah for the Sundance Film Festival.
Wednesday on Good Things Utah, Marcie Young Cancio with Salt Lake Magazine talked about two articles in the newest edition.
First, "Sundance Chic". The magazine shows how to get the "look" of the stars. For instance it recommends big sunglasses, Sorel Joan of Arcic boots, Bluelab reversible jeans and a North Face Wiseman Parka. You can find all of these items and their prices by going to: http://www.saltlakemagazine.com/.
Second, "You Are Not On The List". The article talks about the invasion of stars into the state. Many local Park City residents bug out for the time the festival is on. With Sundance comes "The List". Where your name needs to be on the list, even in places that don't normally even have a list.

Also, Danica Farley from the Downtown Alliance came on Good Things to show us everything going on in Salt Lake City during the festival.
Downtown SLC is on stage in January with film, live music, world-class performances and more. Enjoy dinner before or after the theater at one of the many restaurants, only in downtown (recently opened Plum Alley and Michelangelo's or favorites like Squatters and Bambara).
Sundance in downtown SLC: January 19-29
Film screenings in downtown SLC will be at Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center and Broadway Centre Cinemas. The festival has shone light on Utah as a hub for filmmakers and filmmaking. Each year the number of made-in-Utah films increases as Utah's robust film commission makes the Beehive State a cinema destination.

Sundance Café at the Beehive Tea Room: January 20-28
Conveniently located between the two main Salt Lake Sundance screening venues of Rose Wagner Performing Arts Center and Broadway Centre Cinema, the Café is a place for filmmakers and festival goers-with live music each night from 7:30-10:30 p.m. There is no entrance fee.
The casual atmosphere of the Beehive Tea Room fills the mind with colorful images of casual roadside eateries from the past. French-press coffee, Chai, hot chocolate, an assortment of fine wines, beers, sweets, English scones, sandwiches, salads and soups are festival favorites. The Café is a perfect place to continue conversations after a film.
New Frontier at UMOCA: January 20-May19
Utah Museum of Contemporary Art (formerly Salt Lake Art Center) and Sundance Institute will co-exhibit this year's edition of New Frontier at the Sundance Film Festival The exhibition consists of digital and video installations by leading artists from around the world, and also includes performances and lectures as part of the public programming, all highlighting work that pushes the boundaries of storytelling and the moving images.
The new vision for Salt Lake City encompasses ideas large and small, bold and restrained - for shaping downtown's future.
