Here’s your weekly roundup of what local city councils, school boards and other government entities are tackling during regularly scheduled meetings. All meetings are open to the public, and citizens are welcome to voice their opinions during designated times. If you do wish to speak at a particular meeting, you may need to sign up in advance.
Salt Lake City » Mayor Ralph Becker will deliver his annual State of the City address Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Room 315, at City Hall, 451 S. State St. Also Tuesday, the City Council is scheduled to discuss new district boundaries based on the 2010 census at 3:30 p.m. in their work session. At 4:45 p.m., the council will have a follow-up briefing on new rules governing electronic billboards. And at 6 p.m., the council will discuss a proposed ordinance requiring dog breeders to obtain an annual license. The work session is in Room 326 at City Hall.

Holladay » The city’s state legislators for Holladay will hold a town hall meeting. Scheduled to attend are Sen. Patricia Jones and representatives Brian King, Patrice Arent, Carol Spackman Moss and Lynn Hemingway; Tuesday, Jan. 17, 6:30- 8:30 p.m., at Churchill Jr. High, 3450 E. Oakview Drive.
