Enjoy a new downtown holiday tradition with the Old World Christmas Market beginning the Saturday before Thanksgiving at The Gateway Union Pacific Depot. The opening of the market coincides with the annual Light Up the Night Concert with special performance by Jon Schmidt and the official lighting of The Gateway's splendid holiday décor.
The festive atmosphere at the Old World Christmas Market is modeled after the Christmas Markets of Europe. A yearly event with origins in Germany as early as the 1300's, the Old World Christmas Market is reminiscent of days past.
Visitors will be able to shop for one of a kind, handmade items by local artisans and crafters for holiday gift giving. There will also be food vendors offering traditional flavors of the season including baked goods, traditional German & Italian food, kettle corn, candied nuts, spiced cider, and hot chocolate.
Simply put, the atmosphere at the Old World Christmas Market is irresistible!
