Paint The Town Red Contest

WHAT: Downtown Salt Lake City is "Home of the Utes". Help us Paint the Town Red  by decorating your business or storefront to show your support for University of Utah Football during the final season onf the Mountain West Conference. Let's show that our downtown is a first-rate university town and is "Home of the Utes" as they join the Pac-12 in 2011. Go Utes!

First Prize: $2,000 cash prize plus 6 tickets to the Utah vs. TCU football game, and two lower bowl tickets for each employee to a Utah Men’s Basketball game, 1st place troph,  a signed and framed canvas print of Rice Eccles Stadium and 10 Ute baseball caps in either red or white. 

Second Prize:  $1000 cash prize, 4 tickets to the Utah vs. TCU game , second place trophy and 10 Ute baseball caps in either red or white.

Third Prize: $500 cash prize, 4 tickets to the Utah vs. TCU game,  3rd place trophy, and 10 Ute baseball caps in either red or white.

All Participants: Receive 10  lower- bowl Men’ Basketball tickets.

WHEN: The contest officially begins September 20 at the start of Homecoming week. All businesses should have their decor complete no later than September 24 for the Homecoming Game. Judging will take place on October 29 by the U Cheerleaders, Dance Team and Swoop.  Winners will be notified and announced online on November 1.  Awards will be presented during halftime of the Utah vs. TCU football game on November 6.  Businesses are encouraged to leave decorations up from Homecoming through the end of the season.

 WHO: Downtown businesses and organizations located in the Central Business District (from 300 East to 700 West and 400 South to North Temple) are eligible to compete for prizes.  Participation is free.  Contest sponsored by The  Downtown  Alliance and University of Utah Athletics.

NEW THIS YEAR: Official Downtown Utes Fan T-Shirt!

This year the U  has created a special official fan t-shirt exclusively for downtown businesses and friends.  The shirt has the Downtown SLC  Rising logo on the left sleeve.  These special  t-shirts are available to contest participants and other downtown businesses at the discounted rate of only $10 each so employees can dress in red on game days.  See application for attached information and order form or download a separate order form here .  Orders must be placed by September 10, 2010.
