1st Annual Downtown Old World Christmas Market
Gallivan Plaza (239 S. Main St.)
November 28th - December 5th
Open daily from 11am to 7pm, closed Sunday
Enjoy a new downtown holiday tradition with the Old World Christmas Market beginning on November 28th in conjunction with the Lights On! celebration and continue through December 6th. The festive atmosphere at the Old World Christmas Market is modeled after European Markets—a holiday tradition dating back to the 1300’s.

Visitors will be able to shop at little wooden chalets for unique, one of a kind, handmade items by local artisans and crafters for holiday gift giving. There will also be food vendors offering traditional flavors of the season including baked goods, kettle corn, candied nuts, spiced cider, and hot chocolate. Visitors will also enjoy daily caroling performances from 4-6 pm.

The Christmas Market will be open from 11am – 7 pm daily, (closed Sunday), with special extended hours on Friday, December 5th to coincide with the Salt Lake Gallery Association’s Holiday Gallery Stroll.

The annual Lights On! Celebration will feature a special guest performance by Kurt Bestor and a reading by Richard Paul Evans. Mayor Ralph Becker will also be joining us to “flip the switch” and turn on the Christmas lights downtown. One Voice children’s choir will also be performing and participants can ice skate with Santa at the Gallivan ice rink and enjoy free cookies from Harmon’s. The festivities begin at 4:30 pm and go till 6pm.
